While the pandemic is not over, as the virus becomes less threatening to people than it once was, consumer sentiment appears to have leveled off across a number of factors. Concern over health risks and future variants is increasing slightly. The number of Americans who believe there already is or will be a recession has grown to 7 in 10 and consumers’ plans to cut spending and consider lower price or better valued alternatives span a wide range of categories.
